2025 is all about taking on new challenges and getting back into the things we love. We're dusting off old hobbies and making time for them again, while also keeping an eye out for fresh opportunities and experiences that will help us learn and grow.🕊️

Thanks for all the suggestions to help shape the memo and petitions. We also appreciate the Hon. Minister for agreeing to engage on this issue. Regardless of the outcome tonight, we will proceed with our formal engagement with the Ministry and Parliament. Shalom!!! @koboateng

Man will spend sleepless nights, skip meals, burn data, burn savings, build something profitable from scratch only for @NITAGhana to show up and say what exactly? “You didn’t ask permission to build it so go to jail”. Wei

Since 2019, Ghana's tech sector has been the fastest growing sub-sector in national output. Policy and legislation must consolidate those gains, not stifle them. Unfortunately, the wave of legislation being proposed at the sector ministry seems more interested in state control than enabling growth. For instance, insisting that only wholly-owned Ghanaian companies can get licences to operate in the sector, requiring all tech professionals to be certified by NITA to work in the public or private sector, and taxing gross revenue instead of profit are all anti-growth and anti-innovation. If we want to make Ghana a tech hub in the region, legislation that shuts out investment and innovation and centralises power in a state institution will make that dream continue to be just a dream.

go to university read IT related courses pay school fees for 4yrs get a certificate from the university do your national service after national service look for jobs jobs say they need 4 years experience start something for yourself using your IT skills NITA says it’s illegal so come and pay them so the evaluate you and give you certificate to certify that you are an iT specialist. think of doing remote IT jobs. NITA says that’s illegal too because they haven’t certified you. you start to wonder why you went to the university in the first place.

They regulate speech. They regulate hair. They regulate dressing. They regulate sexuality. Now, they are regulating creativity. This is not far from fascism. And it is a dangerous path.

Quick update: we’re postponing our Space and redirecting everyone to the official @NITAGhana Space tonight at 7:30pm. Hon. Minister @samgeorgegh will be there, so this is the chance to hear directly from the Ministry and ask questions on the NITA Bill. If you use the internet, run a business, build software, work in tech, or simply want to understand what is being proposed, please join. Don’t miss this 👍🏾

Later today, we’ll host a Space to go through all 15 digital bills. We’ll break down what each bill actually says, who it affects, what powers it gives government, what penalties are inside, and why every Ghanaian using the internet, mobile money, social media, apps, websites, or digital services should care. Come with your questions. Come with the documents. Let’s read before they regulate us.

This! You scrapped ELevy because the public pushed back. That same energy should tell you these fees are wrong. The tech industry is struggling globally and your response is to add registration fees? You’re not bringing sanity. You’re adding weight to a drowning man.
TheSophisticatedDumbTechGuy@TheDumbTechGuy

You saw it fit to scrap ELevy, an existing law, but this one dier, you will use to bring sanity to the entire space. Rather than push for their removal and think of newer bills that can help sustain the industry which is struggling... across the world... You go and do this and expect us to clap hands and hail your praises. Abysmal leadership

So let me get this straight, there’s a high rate of unemployment in this country. They said we should do our own thing, including opening indomie joints, and tech, one of the easiest fields to enter which can bring some revenue, they now want to bill and over regulate. Smh.
