Breaking: A judge in district court in Lubbock County, Texas, has granted the injunction requested by Texas Tech QB Brendan Sorsby. He’s set to be eligible for the 2026 season. Sorsby cannot play in Texas Tech's first two games, which was the penalty his legal team suggested to the NCAA.

#TexasTech has done the unthinkable and made a #BYU fan want to cheer for #Utah.

NEWS: A judge in district court in Lubbock County, Texas, has granted the injunction requested by Texas Tech QB Brendan Sorsby. He’s set to be eligible for the 2026 season.

Judge Ken Curry, who ruled on Brendan Sorsby’s case, is a University of Houston law graduate, did his undergrad at UT-Arlington and last practiced in Fort Worth. The “local judge” talk after this Sorsby ruling is simply uneducated.

The SEC is so threatened by Texas Tech lol

I’m on record against Sorsby getting to play, but the moral posturing by everyone today is insane. Joe Mixon punched his GF on camera. Georgia players are in the news every week for some felony. Bama had a guy playing for them while he was part of a murder investigation.

Big 12 Commissioner Brett Yormark to ESPN on Brendan Sorsby ruling: “The ramifications of today’s ruling are significant and could have broad impacts across college athletics, creating great concern amongst our membership. I’ve been consulting with our key stakeholders and have scheduled meetings with our Conference ADs and Executive Board this week. We are also in touch with Charlie Baker and anticipate the NCAA to appeal the order in the next 24-48 hours. We will continue to monitor and evaluate the situation.”

Sorsby had been ruled ineligible by the NCAA earlier this year after he acknowledged gambling on sports, including on his own team while at Indiana. More: espn.com/college-footba…
