This time of year always inspires me. WHY? Because I get to see high school players in their element strive for their dreams despite the obstacles this new era in college football presents them. It wasn’t as difficult a process for them before the portal, but doing this type of work long enough, you recognize the resilience and grit it takes to continue fighting and that to me is inspiring.
I remember seeing @WayshawnParker on a hot, humid day in Sacramento 3 years ago display these characteristics. @Lamarcusbell4 in a similar setting more recently. I didn’t have the privilege to see @Danielbray2_ during his high school years (but I sure feel like did ‘cause he tells
me), but I did spend an entire year with him as a young freshman watching him work. @HeluMateaki and @Chavez5x I’ll find out about shortly.
Yet, you best believe the immense gains we make (or lack thereof) will be directly tied to these two characteristics: resilience and grit. I’m so excited to get to work with this group.
Well, time to board my flight. Looking forward to being inspired #GoUtes#OnTheTrail
