The Costal-Class Research Vessel(CCRV) will be operated by Scripps and feature the world's first innovative propulsion system that utilizes hydrogen fuel cells for zero-emissions operation. The ship is intended to replace UCSD's R/V Robert G. Sproul as a vessel in the ARF.

HOV Alvin, the U.S. Navy operated research submersible plunges deeper than ever thanks to a $50 million upgrade that allows the submersible to dive to depths of 6500 meters deep. With its thicker titanium hull and stronger seals, HOV Alvin can now reach 99% of the ocean bottom.

R/V Savannah has undergone a mid-life refit! She is entering her 23rd year in supporting science. We wish her and the team many more successful years to come! Built in 2001, the RV Savannah is entering its 23-year supporting science along the eastern seaboard and Gulf of Mexico.
