𝑰 𝒉𝒂𝒅 𝒏𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓 𝒃𝒆𝒆𝒏 𝒄𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒆𝒅 𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝒊𝒏 𝒄𝒍𝒂𝒔𝒔 𝒃𝒆𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒆, 𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒐𝒏𝒄𝒆.
I was that quiet child in the backseat with a mind of her own praying only to make mama proud.
But one day, that changed.
Someone walked into my classroom and called my name.
My English teacher was looking for me.
My heart dropped.
Teachers don’t go looking for students unless it’s trouble, right? And I was never the kind of girl to get in trouble. Still, I walked, shaky legs, to the staff room.
And then she smiled.
But not the kind of smile that makes you relax. It was the kind that made you even more nervous, like she knew something I didn’t.
Then she said it.
“I’ve never met someone who writes the way you do. You’re one of the best I’ve taught.”
In that moment, relief washed over me, but also something else.
It felt like she had opened a door I didn’t even know existed.
Back then, I would actually write short stories in those cheap notebooks and pass them around.
My classmates would pay just to read the next episode. Looking back now, it was my first odd job. I didn’t realize it then, but I was selling stories. Selling imagination.
But somewhere along the line, I lost track of that.
Fast forward to university, my world shifted. I had become a visual creative, a video editor. I thought that was my new life, my new skill.
Until recently.
I created a video for a client, and when she watched it, she looked at me and said:
“Wow… you don’t just edit videos, you tell stories. That’s why your work makes people feel something.”
She told me her friends and colleagues couldn’t stop talking about how much emotion they felt from the script, the voice, the visuals.
And suddenly, I remembered.
It hit me like déjà vu.
The smiles, the fear, the relief, all over again. Full circle.
What my teacher saw in me years ago had never really left. It didn’t disappear. It just evolved, waiting for the right time to reintroduce itself.
And what's that saying about the best time being now!
I am Riyah. I am zen. A visual creative and a creative writer.

I’ve mastered the art of blending visuals and narratives in a way that captivates people, draws them in, and not only makes your vision feel like their own, but inspires them to carry it forward, to preach the gospel of your brand.
Finding my way into Web3 is a story for another day.
The journey of my arrival here was chaotic, mind-blowing, and yet, with the guidance of those who helped me navigate these waters, I found my path.
Because teaching and educating have always been part of me, I now bring that same spirit here also guiding others to grow gradually, just as I have.
