Aptos to Launch Native Encrypted Mempool to Prevent Frontrunning and Censorship
Aptos said it will launch a native Encrypted Mempool to protect user transaction intent at the protocol layer, reducing risks such as frontrunning, censorship, and order-flow leakage.
The mechanism keeps transaction details hidden during block ordering and decrypts them before execution, while confirmed transactions will still be recorded on-chain as usual. Aptos Labs said its batched threshold encryption design can enable the feature with minimal impact on network latency and trust assumptions.

Aptos (@Aptos) has announced a native encrypted mempool designed to protect user transaction intent directly at the protocol layer.
The mechanism hides transaction details during block ordering and only decrypts them immediately before execution.
Frontrunning, one of the most persistent and costly problems in decentralized finance, exploits the brief window when pending transactions are publicly visible.
By encrypting that window entirely, Aptos aims to close the gap at its source. Confirmed transactions will still be recorded on-chain as usual, preserving full transparency after the fact.
