Have we learned nothing from economic history ? We administered this mis prescription in the 70s and it failed badly. Why are we repeating the same mistakes ?

I was always taught that you don’t fix a supply side shock (oil $ ⬆️) with another supply side shock (interest rates ⬆️) because all it does is restrict supply further and raises prices and unemployment- otherwise known as stagflation. So what’s the RBA thinking ?

@ButtigiegMark I’m no fan of his but if Labor doesn’t do something about this graph they’re very much at risk of his populist right movement gaining traction. Most people currently think their living standards will get worse.

@Partisan_12 @yanisvaroufakis Since when was it a union ? It’s simply a monetary mechanism for Germany and France to extract wealth from the periphery countries via the common adoption of the Euro. No tax and transfer union + no political union = no union.
