This thief was caught at the University College Hospital, Ibadan, just a few minutes ago. I had been waiting in front of the oral surgery clinic when he walked past me and went inside. A few minutes later, shouts of "Ole!" came from within. I got up to see what was happening, and it turned out to be the same man who had just walked by me. The phone he stole was recovered from him on the spot. The doctors began recounting how they had been losing items for some time, ranging from phones and laptops to ATM cards and even motorcycles. When they searched his pockets, they found ATM cards belonging to doctors that had been reported missing over the preceding weeks. It wasn't his first time.

Those kids will become terror cell leaders in another 8 years as teenagers. A problem the next President will have to confront and the cycle continues. They have an endless number to recruit from and radicalise. For now, they function as a shield. Those who deny the place of religion and radicalisation in this ideological war are playing a dumb game. The problem will continue for as long as the root causes aren't addressed - poverty, illiteracy and religious radicalisation. What will another 15 years of fighting terrorists and Banditry cost the country in financial and non financial cost. This problem started in 2008 / 09 and despite the bombings and the military onslaught, they keep increasing in size and might. Ask yourself why?

Who advised @DeleFarotimi to keep a safe distance from @PeterObi, or has he finally realized that the man is politically empty both inside and outside? Because around this same period during the last election cycle, Dele had already gone into full sermon mode, crying, wailing and evangelizing as though Obi was about to transform Nigeria into Dubai Pro Max overnight. Today, the noise has faded, the endless hype has disappeared, and the blind excitement seems to have given way to reality. Perhaps experience has finally taught him what many people saw from the very beginning.

It should be made clear to Chief Sunday Igboho that, while his capacity, competence and courage are fully acknowledged, the SW will not embolden or empower private security outfits that are unwilling to align with, collaborate with, or reinforce constitutionally recognized security institutions. The present imbroglio arose from the haphazard creation of unsustainable, ad hoc silos which, once the immediate threat subsided, became the very problems they were meant to solve. He should therefore pursue meaningful ways to work within and strengthen the existing security framework. A few of us possess capabilities that exceed those of our politicized and bureaucratically constrained security services, yet we have chosen to bridge those gaps rather than build parallel forces. Problems cannot be solved with the same mindset that created them. 🚔

This man here is one of the most educated northern tweeps on here(at least as we are made to believe). If he has this type of mentality as an educated Northerner, just imagine what will be in the head of those who didn’t manage to see the four corners of a school. We are not leaving the insecurity trenches anytime soon😀😀.
Engr Yasir MNSE 🏗@oil_shaeikh

The main reason why southerners frown at Mass wedding by some governors in the North is not because of any genuine concern but only that they feel it gives the north a population advantage over them. How many percent of the Northern population stems from Mass wedding ? A very insignificant number. Go deal with your problems and leave people to their own. Population is never a disadvantage.

@PeterObi @WilliamsFatayo All they are asking you to do is to take one minute to condemn activities of IPOB who are killing Igbos on a daily basis. All these emotional blackmail won’t work. Condemn them same way you talk about other terrorists across the country!!

Dear Obi,you championed an ethnic attack on Yoruba people during the 2023 elections You shared a fake WhatsApp chat where you claimed, Tinubu told Yoruba people not to vote Obi because it means they ibos will leave Lagos and have seaport in the east! Your political tool is championing ethnicity and religious division You are a bigot!
Peter Obi@PeterObi

Media Framing of Crime Along Ethnic Lines: Divisive. As an Igbo man, I have endured stereotypes, judgment, and labelling solely based on my ethnic origins. This is not an isolated Igbo experience. Most Nigerians have, at some point, been reduced to their ethnicity rather than recognised for their true character. I understand the pain of the ordinary Fulani man today, often unfairly judged by the actions of criminals he does not support, has never met, and who are not representative of his people. Even in America, such unjust labelling fueled the civil rights movement and prompted Martin Luther King Jr. to declare that people should be judged by the content of their character, not the colour of their skin. Every Nigerian ethnic group is known for its unique traditions, occupations, skills, and strengths. Crime, however, has no ethnicity. A thief is a thief. A terrorist is a terrorist. A kidnapper is a kidnapper. They are bad actors, not representatives of any people. They must be identified, arrested, and punished according to the law. We must decisively abandon the dangerous practice of blaming entire ethnic groups for the actions of a few criminals. It is unjust, it breeds hatred, and it damages our national unity. Let us proudly celebrate our diverse cultures, talents, and contributions, rather than falling prey to stereotypes and prejudices that politicians and divisive interests exploit for their gain. A new Nigeria must emerge—one where no citizen is condemned because of tribe, religion, or birthplace. We can cherish our cultural roots while standing united by justice, mutual respect, and hope for a better future. We are capable of this. A new Nigeria is within our reach. -PO

The Federal Ministry of Finance has approved the settlement of payments to more than 1,240 contractors working with various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), prioritizing those under ₦100 million. In a statement issued on Monday, Mary-Ann Duke, Senior Special Assistant on Communication and Press Secretary to the Minister of Finance, explained that the approvals came after a thorough verification and reconciliation process to confirm outstanding obligations to the contractors. The exercise places priority on verified claims below ₦100 million, as indicated in the official announcement. This initiative aims to address legacy debts, ease cash flow challenges for businesses, and promote greater transparency in government payments.

This insecurity uprising in Yoruba land will backfire on all the thoughtless people who are trying to test the spirit and soul of Yoruba land. It will achieve the reverse effect of bringing Yoruba Unity like never before, return our people back to the ways of our ancestors, bursting religion opium and ultimately engender a new wave of Yoruba Nationalism. It will bring out the BEST OF YORUBA LAND.

Sokoto's 2026 budget is ₦758B. The state sponsored 2,140 people for Hajj. At about ₦9M per pilgrim, that's roughly ₦19.3B. Add the ₦450k given to each pilgrim (about ₦963M). Total is over ₦20B. Agriculture got ₦18.74B. And Sokoto remains Nigeria's poorest state.
Bolaji Fesomade@MasterBolaji

Sokoto State: The poorest in Nigeria. 90.05% poverty rate. It means 9 out of every 10 people in Sokoto can't afford a decent square meal. Sent 2,410 people to Hajj. Gave each of them ₦450,000. Now multiply ₦450,000 by 2,410. You see how they spend their money? It's sad.

Gov. Bala Mohammed says before live camera on National TV that Faceless and Nameless Herdsmen have A RIGHT to carry AK47 to protect themselves from criminal CATTLE RUSTLERS who steal their cows and ANOTHER RIGHT to move freely in any angle of the forests anywhere. But he doesn't think it is right for a known IGBOHO or AMOTEKUN to carry the same weapons to protect their people from dangerous Bandits terorrizing their people. No other people in Africa have the kind of COW BRAINS of the Jihadists and Zionists!

Whatever the President did to give Osun LGA guys permanent autonomy that LGAs now get their FAAC directly must be repeated Nationwide across the remaining LGAs..... A particular Governor was alleged to have been giving LGA Chairman N5 million out of over N500 million FAAC allocation of that particular LGA, then allocate N50 million for capital project for that LGA...🤣🤣🤣 That N50 million capital project is not monthly o, I mean even if you have done that for an LGA with FAAC that's above N500 million, that would still be evil, but they won't even do so..... Make Tinubu win second term, make he finish Wetin he start with LGA autonomy forcefully and finally.....

When you see events like this, it should serve as a reminder of why Nigeria must complete the return to true federalism, whatever the cost. If a state/region generates its own revenue and then remits an agreed fraction to the federal government, they are free to spend the rest according to the interest and priorities of their people. No one will complain about how they choose to spend their own money. Nigeria cannot continue with a one-size-fits-all system. We are not a homogeneous society. Even if we overlook our smaller differences and focus only on the major cultural and historical distinctions, we will figure that we are at least 6 different peoples, with different values, priorities, and idea of governance. For Nigeria to remain one and succeed, true Federalism to the very last detail is non-negotiable.
