When I was building spacecraft, one of our engineers would stand behind us while we were laying wire harnesses and read from the Bible. We would sometimes pray before a large operation. One of the reasons Starfox is so important to me was I was like maybe 4, when Starfox N64 came out. At the time, my Dad wasn’t in my life at all and my mom would always tell me he was “away doing something important” rather than upsetting me. When I first saw Fox’s Dad appear on screen and tell him “Don’t ever give up” I immediately thought of my Dad and maybe what he would say to me. As silly as that may seem, I think this just proves how important games are to kids and how they help us get through some very hard times. ❤️
