In the seamount we just maped close to La Isla del Coco this is what we saw within OMZ 🤯🪸. All the fear I felt to send the ROV SuBastian in this unexplored waters was so worth it. After this leg there are many more questions to answer. @InsideNatGeo @SchmidtOcean, @4DOceansLab

To lead the expedition in La Isla del Coco focusing on understanding the distribution of corals 🪸across OMZ was challenging but rewarding🤩. We found unique ecosystems, coral with eggs, octopuses, sharks, mantarays and mapped an unexplored seamount🧵 @InsideNatGeo @SchmidtOcean
