Sure, it's expensive. Consoles are cheaper, but you're locked to Sony, Microsoft or Nintendo, they make up the revenue in game sales and subscriptions. This isn't a console, but a full fledged PC, no vendor locks. Steam doesn't sell it at a loss and make up revenue on sales.
