Why don't you just tell people the only reason Chernobyl happened is because the soviets were cheap asses and coated the boron rods with graphite instead of lead so it got stuck trying to reinsert, and that anyone competent can build an extremely efficient reactor without fear of a meltdown? And then let's get busy on driving energy costs down.

During early childhood, not only should the mother not work -- the dad should really try not to work very much either. Families should go to great lengths to maximize time spent with mother, father, and child. This is a lot of why I've ever been into extreme frugality, anti-9-to-5, etc. Because I had an absent father, and it sucked. I noticed that many of my childhood friends whose fathers worked "real jobs" suffered similar problems as I did. Nobody was teaching the boys to be men; dads were too busy working to protect their daughters. Even if mom was home and didn't work, they missed out on their father's presence in the home. The kids that turned out the best seemed to have grown up in households where mom never worked, dad only occasionally worked (part-time, self-employed, various "hustles"), both parents spent tons of time with the kids, and usually, this lifestyle was made possible by the fact that the family owned their home outright, with no mortgage. "Jobs" as we know them are a novel product of the industrial revolution. Nothing about them is really anthropologically normal. And so far as family formation is concerned, a father who works a full-time job is almost as much of as hazard as a mother who works at all. The true key is a dirt-cheap, sub-$50k house, zero debt, and an ultra-low-cost lifestyle, so that dad can work very casually, occasionally, etc.

What opinion do you have about parenting young children that would have you like this?

when i was a child i wanted to be an airline pilot and my insane mother railed against this ambition of mine as boring and inadequate, she said i might as well be taxi driver. some imponderable combination of social pressures and my own talents steered me toward ancient history/archaeology anyway, but i’ve always been an aviation enthusiast in my reading and i really think a massive defect of the modern world is allowing stupid hag women to importune upon the naive visions of young boys. i would’ve been totally happy and thrilled to be a pilot, i put up with loads of shit in academia and walked away from it permanently embittered.

If you read the lives of Caesar, Alexander, and Napoleon you can see how their seemingly delusional mindset shaped their success. Caesar in particular had a knack for turning bad situations to his advantage. He was once kidnapped by pirates in the Mediterranean, but his personality won them over. When they tried to ransom him for 20 talents of silver, he demanded that they raise it to 50. After his release, he raised an army and killed all of the pirates who had previously kidnapped him. He did the most insane political maneuvers too, like running for pontifex maximus at 36 while lacking all of the typical prerequisites. All of this built up an insane aura around him which just accelerated his success.

This is mostly why I’m anti-wearable/anti-data tracking, & also anti-tik tok/anti-ig. Do whatever it takes to preserve ur positive mindset, & remove the things that mess with it. Spend enough time on those apps & trackers & u will be convinced that u have PCOS, perimenopause, ur husband is cheating on u, & u can’t go to the gym because ur in ur luteal phase or whatever. It’s all driving u insane & making u miserable

Literally just having a delusional golden retriever mindset measurably changes outcomes and physiology. Sleep badly? Convince yourself you're well rested. Stressful day? Convince yourself it's fuel. Failed? Convince yourself it's useful data.
