The powerful 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of the southern Philippines yesterday, is triggering tsunami warnings and sending coastal communities scrambling for higher ground. Videos are now beginning to surface showing rough seas, waves pushing toward shorelines, and residents evacuating vulnerable areas as authorities monitor conditions along the coast. In some locations, officials warned of tsunami waves reaching up to 3 meters. The earthquake has already caused significant damage, with rescue crews working through the aftermath while aftershocks continue to shake the region.
