"We’re at the starting line for a new era of art and architecture. Metaverses are crafting new rules for spatial experiences that can be “built” without the traditional constraints of materiality, gravity, or weather. Virtual worlds will begin to unlock new ways of thinking that will flip our long-held logic of construction, of buildings, public spaces, neighborhoods and cities. Experimental communities like M○C△ are at the forefront of this paradigm shift. I hope that this museum encourages you to explore (and create) a bit further down the rabbit hole alongside us…" untitled.xyz/blog/architect…

This transaction between me and the designer who invented the genre of virtual architecture as new aesthetics is so much more than just an exchange of assets. Without Untitled, xyz / Kirk, my journey couldn’t have even started, and this trade is bigger than it appears for me. Kirk has now become the very first collector of Digital Topographies. Since the only artist/designer that I am following and trying to have his works from each collection is himself, I am truly giga pumped to have 2 of his amazing 1/1's from his enormously well-designed collection TEMPLATES. As a fan and follower, I've had the privilege of observing the evolution of his work over the past two and a half years. While the outcomes have become more minimalistic, they have retained their core essence, now featuring more vibrant, striking colors. What’s particularly intriguing is that these designs are not pavilions or completed spaces; they’re meant to be part of a larger system—maybe a city, a skyscraper, or even a sprawling, single-story museum, depending on the user's needs and desires. It’s reminiscent of the Domino House principle, which revolutionized architectural thinking. The same could be said for the TEMPLATES and other pieces, designed to function as components of a larger puzzle. You can use just one to create something unique, or combine several to unlock limitless possibilities. His work, with its depth, kindness, and elegance, should be an essential part of architectural education for brilliant minds. Since his early videos with Vertical Crypto Art, his influence has profoundly shaped the way I think as an architect. (they are still very mind-blowing videos.) I’ve been in the crypto space (CT) since 2017, witnessing 20k falldown, the NFT boom, land sales and all the hype along the way. Around the end of 2021, just as I was finishing my master’s degree in architecture, I stumbled upon a magical article about architecture in the metaverse. At that time, I was torn between continuing as an IRL architect or exploring new horizons. The article was written by none other than the notorious Untitled, xyz himself. That’s when everything clicked for me. As a trained designer, his new language of design, built on solid historical references and how they're deconstructed, felt like a new discovery—a revolutionary invention. It still feels like that, though few people are exploring this new world and its designs, still early days after all those years. This approach to spatial design (using only virtual parameters) changed how I viewed architecture. It was powerful, fresh, brave, bold, and yet minimalistic. Sure, there are a lot of virtual designs that mirror our physical experiences, which is also quite cool in their context and use paradigm. But what Kirk did—melting his urban and architectural background into digital art to create usable virtual spaces—was the spark that got me playing with spatial parameters. A huge inspiration. I decided to rebrand my crypto Twitter account for metaverse design and started creating tasks for myself. Out of nowhere, I gave myself six months to see how it would go. If it didn’t work out, I could always go back to my profession. I explored communities, builders, and competitions, and while it was all exciting, I needed an economic push to convince myself it could be a sustainable business. Then I found a competition with a decent cash prize—organized by Parcel and PangeaDAO in June 2022, featuring two categories: music venue and gathering space. I submitted a design for each: Finger Dome and Astral Egg Plant, but I wasn’t expecting much. The thing is, Kirk was on the selection board of the jury. For me, it wasn’t just about the competition; it was my chance to showcase my work. So, I worked hard. When the results were announced, I was stunned—I won a runner-up spot in the gathering space category. It was like a dream. Then, as Kirk was about to announce the winner for the music venue category, I was already getting ready to go out and partayy. And then, he announced my name and design. I can’t describe how it felt—I was literally speechless in twitter space when I had my mic on, trying to keep it cool. But it was huge for me. It was my first achievement in this new field, where very few people were trying to create over this non-existing and emerging space design profession. If you ask me, there are even fewer people doing it now than there were back then, but that achievement solidified my decision to stick with this profession no matter what. During the Neon Buidl days, around the same time, I had the chance to meet and brainstorm with Kirk, alongside some incredible builders. Many of them are still the core of the M3 family today. After that, he helped me create the Transparent Animal Rooms collection for MOCA ROOMS, which was another milestone for me. I was truly honored to design spaces for the ROOM algorithm that enables on-chain curation for any museum. It’s still a big innovation. And now, after two and a half years since I read that article, which was my opening page in that period for the browser, this trade with Kirk marks something significant—he became the very first collector of Digital Topographies. Besides that, I don’t know, but it might be the first time two architects exchanged their buildings, which is enormously funny in its own context.

I am thrilled to share that I've acquired 3 architectural masterpieces XHBTION_SPC, PROMETHADE + OPP13 by @decentralize___ / @D__F__W__ as part of a trade for 2 of my TEMPLATES. Decentralize is an innovator and true pioneer in the emerging field of virtual architecture. 🧵 🌐

Now, FFORMS are ready for the epic virtual road ahead. This playful collection is special to me. It was my first deep dive into metaverse interoperability and a huge design challenge to develop modular building units that could be collaged into new virtual super-structures.
