Ojude Oba” literally means the king’s forecourt, but at this point it’s basically the Ijebus’ annual fashion week + reunion + soft life showcase 😭😭
It’s like a huge homecoming celebration for the Ijebu people where everyone dresses in their best traditional outfits and goes to pay respect to the Awujale.
It started long ago with Muslim families going to thank and greet the king after Eid (Ileya), but now it has grown into a big yearly festival where culture, family, and pride are on full display.
What makes it special is the steeze …the fashion, the horse riding, the family groups in coordinated outfits, and the pure elegance everywhere you turn.
It’s really a celebration of unity, heritage, wealth, and identity.
Basically: we are Ijebu… and yes, we know how to show up stylishly 😊😍😍
