The incident occurred in the Charclay area of Clayfield, where the brother and sister, both in their 30s, were reportedly trapped in their bedrooms as a fire broke out following the explosion. Emergency services arrived around 6 AM, but the thick smoke and rapidly spreading flames made it difficult for rescuers to reach the victims in time. Firefighters eventually managed to search the property thoroughly and found the first victim, a woman, who was pulled from the building. Despite immediate attempts to revive her through CPR, she was later pronounced dead from third-degree burns. The second victim, a man, was also found and received CPR, but he too succumbed to his injuries shortly after. Authorities are investigating the cause of the explosion and subsequent fire, raising concerns about the safety risks posed by everyday electronic devices.
