I REJECT THE CONCOCTED RESULTS OF THE ADC PRESIDENTIAL PRIMARIES Following reports of widespread voter disenfranchisement in most parts of the country during the African Democratic Congress (ADC) Presidential Primaries yesterday, I unequivocally reject the concocted results being announced. I had initially stated that I will only accept the outcome of the Primaries if the process was free, fair, and transparent, and I stand by my word. I will not accept results from a process that does not reflect the values that the ADC had pledged to uphold, to rescue Nigerians from the impunity and gross mismanagement that our country is currently facing in the hands of the ruling party. There’s no way that about eighty percent of members of the party were not allowed to vote, and you expect me to accept such results. Then what makes us different from the others? The whole idea of the ADC was to give the Nigerian people a platform, to amplify the voices of the downtrodden, and make Nigeria a better place for everyone irrespective of backgrounds, ethnicity, or religion. A party that criticizes the ruling APC and INEC for vote buying, rigging and writing of results, cannot be engaged in vote buying, writing of results, and other electoral malpractices that leads to the disenfranchisement of voters who are party members. This is not acceptable! - Rt Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi

I will not be attending the announcement of the ADC Presidential Election Results today. I am concerned by reports from across the country of widespread vote rigging, some of which I myself observed, and will therefore be taking advice on my next steps.

As long as people like this man are allowed to walk the streets free, all in the name of religious freedom.... How do you stand before microphones to say that other Nigerians whose religions are different from yours should be beheaded? And you are saying it with confidence? What else is called terrorism? @PoliceNG @OfficialDSSNG

STATEHOUSE PRESS RELEASE PRESIDENT TINUBU CONGRATULATES RANGERS ON WINNING THE NIGERIAN LEAGUE TITLE President Bola Ahmed Tinubu congratulates Rangers International FC on winning the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) title for a record ninth time.   The President congratulates the managers, players, and fans of the Enugu-based football club for finishing the last campaign at the top of the table with 68 points in 38 matches, ahead of their closest rival, Rivers United.   President Tinubu recalls the incredible run of Rangers in the 1970s and 1980s, when the club won multiple league and FA Cup titles, especially in 1975, when they reached the finals of the African Cup of Champions Clubs, and in 1977, when they won the African Cup Winners' Cup.   "I must also congratulate Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State on the victory of Rangers International FC. This victory is an obvious fruit of his administration’s investments in youth and sports in the state. I commend him.   "As one of the oldest clubs in Nigeria, Rangers have produced some of the nation's finest football players who went on to make the country proud on the global stage. I am proud of their achievement," the President says.   President Tinubu also commends Rivers United for an excellent performance throughout the tournament and for demonstrating good sportsmanship.   He wishes both Rangers International FC and Rivers United the very best as they represent Nigeria in next season's CAF Champions League.   Bayo Onanuga Special Adviser to the President (Information & Strategy) May 25, 2026

TROOPS OF 6 BRIGADE NEUTRALISE TWO SUSPECTED BANDITS, RECOVER AK-47 RIFLE IN TARABA In a continued effort to flush out criminal elements threatening peace and security in Taraba State, troops of the 6 Brigade Nigerian Army (NA)/Sector 3 Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS) have successfully neutralised two suspected armed bandits during a well-coordinated tactical operation. The operation was carried out on 24 May 2026 following the receipt of credible intelligence reports of gunshots heard in a forest near the “Welcome to Donga” signpost in Akate District, Donga Local Government Area (LGA). Acting swiftly on the intelligence received, the troops mobilised to the area and conducted a tactical raid. Upon arrival at the scene, the troops encountered suspected armed assailants and engaged them in a gun duel. During the exchange, two of the suspected criminals were neutralised. Items recovered from the operation included one AK-47 rifle, five rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, two AK-47 magazines, two mobile phones, and other personal items. Speaking on the success of the operation, the Commander of 6 Brigade NA/Sector 3 Operation Whirl Stroke, Brigadier General Chukwuemeka Michael Akaliro, commended the troops for their swiftness and professionalism. He urged the troops to sustain the operational momentum in line with the directive of the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) to eliminate all forms of criminality across the state. Brigadier General Akaliro affirmed that the reward and sanction policy would also apply to the gallant troops involved in the operation. He further reassured residents of Taraba State that the Brigade remains resolute in its commitment to pursuing criminal elements and maintaining sustained pressure on them until all threats to peace and security are completely eliminated. After almost seven years at this club, it’s hard to put into words what this moment means to me. I arrived at this club when I was 18 years old. Far from home, barely speaking the language, trying to adapt to a completely new culture, new life and chasing a dream that felt so big at the time. I didn’t know exactly what the future would hold, but I knew I wanted to give everything for this club. We didn’t just build a team, we built a family, an identity, and something the fans could believe in again. To see this club back where it belongs is one of the proudest moments of my career. I want to thank my family, thank everyone at the club, the staff, my teammates, and every person working behind the scenes. Most importantly, thank you to the fans. Your support, patience and love throughout these years never went unnoticed. You stayed with us through the difficult moments, and this title belongs to you as much as anyone. This club changed my life. I will always be grateful for the privilege of wearing this shirt. PREMIER LEAGUE CHAMPIONS 🏆
