Provide fuel subsidies to fishermen in response to challenges arising from the war in the Middle East. 8. Reform the Judicial Service Commission, and ensure the independence of the judiciary. 9. Dear Maldivian students, Several media outlets @sunbrk, @Dhaurunews @Mihaarunews have been covering @MahilShaheem’s semester award, presenting it as major national news. Imagine this. In a typical 3 year degree programme, there are 6 semesters and in a 4 year degree, there are 8 semesters. Many of you receive these faculty awards semester after semester, yet they never make the news. But Mahil’s award is suddenly all over the media. This selective coverage is unfair. This hype is coming from the fact that Mahil is the son of a cabinet minister, a good case of nepotism. This is the first time in Maldivian history mainstream media has given such extensive coverage to a routine semester based student award. I wanted to bring this to your attention cause it undermines the hard work of all of you deserving students who are getting these semester faculty awards and subject awards.
