I am not sure how many of us know this, but before he was Deenanath Mangeshkar, his family name was actually Abhisheki. His father was the priest at the Mangueshi Temple in Goa. These research vessels have been carefully planting a web of sea bed acoustic sensors connected to Beidou satellites (Blue Ocean Network) This ensures that they have a real time track of all naval assets navigating these waters. These sensors have been tethered to the sea floor using ROVs with robotic arms. While the initial focus is on passively absorbing the acoustic signatures of our surface and sub surface assets , it will quickly graduate to sensor fusion targeting based on type identification and real time co-ordinates (Deep Blue Brain ) The Chagos-Lakshadweep ridge and the Investigator Ridge south east of Andamans are potential hydrophone sensor sites. The @indiannavy will need to rapidly up their sub surface game to be able to identity and dismantle/disrupt this sensor network. Needs a large fleet of research vessels with dive support capability , ability to lay cables and deploy deep-sea ROVs. The game is rapidly evolving with under sea docking and recharging of UUVs/AUVs using a sophisticated system of “ocean power” generation being the next frontier.
