Here's another Packard that almost ended Babe Ruth's career as a Yankee in the crib. In what is widely considered the worst trade in the history of sports, in early 1920 the Boston Red Sox sold 24 year old Ruth to the New York Yankees for $125K cash and a $300k loan secured by Fenway Park, thereafter condemning the Bosox to the 84 year Curse of the Bambino. Ruth's 1920 salary was only $20K, but he was immediately a huge star in New York with limitless endorsement opportunities. Leaving him able to afford this: a $12,000 1920 Packard 3-35 Twin Six roadster with full custom bodywork by Fleetwood. An outrageously flashy car for an outrageously flashy personality. On September 30, 1920, Ruth was driving it from New York to a post-season barnstorming exhibition game in Springfield MA, when he experienced a head-on collision with a Mack truck in a bridge tunnel in Wallingford, CT. The Packard was totaled and never seen again, but miraculously Babe was either thrown or jumped from the car, and escaped with only some road rash. He hitchhiked the rest of the way to Springfield and didn't even miss the game. Without that bit of good luck, "Babe Ruth" might've been just a footnote in the baseball annals. By the way, that's Babe's baby daughter in the car with him.

So I guess we'll do a thread on the arch for the bench and use some material from the book. First, we'll start some basic concepts. Like the the lockout position for the bench is directly over the shoulders and in balance because it has virtually no moment arm and uses the least amount of energy.
