This law is intended to enable the police to automatically retrieve data from various databases, including publicly accessible internet data. Jurists and data protection advocates are issuing warnings, referring to it as an infrastructure for the "comprehensive traceability of the population." The software for implementing these plans could come from the US company Palantir, which has been a subject of criticism for years. Switzerland recently rejected the software because it could not be ruled out that the data might be intercepted by US intelligence agencies. The software is already in use in several federal states. It is already becoming clear that it is being used there for minor offenses as well, and not solely for "counter-terrorism" as previously claimed. De kern van een democratische rechtsstaat is een controleerbare, transparante overheid, niet een gecontroleerde en geobserveerde burger. Wat hier wordt bepleit, is het omgekeerde. Deze ongekozen technocraat vindt dat de overheid alles mag weten en de burger niets. Dat is geen democratie, dat is totalitair gezever. Intussen is de overheid zelf een black box. Besluiten worden genomen achter gesloten deuren, controle faalt, corruptie viert hoogtij en burgers staan buitenspel. Vertrouwen ontstaat niet door macht, maar door verantwoording. Schandalen, gebrek aan transparantie en falende instituties hebben het fundament onder dat vertrouwen allang uitgehold. Veel Nederlanders hebben intussen gezien dat met behulp van dit soort onbetrouwbare figuren een machtsgreep werd gepleegd en zij hun reet afvegen met democratische spelregels . Wie denkt dat vertrouwen kan worden afgedwongen, heeft geen benul van het begrip rechtsstaat. Vertrouwen moet je verdienen, en als dat ontbreekt, moet je wegwezen.

En, niet onbelangrijk, ik wil dat de @Rijksrecherche weer datgene gaat doen waarvoor zij er zijn. Namelijk: ‘Strafrechtelijk onderzoek doen naar (ernstige) strafbare feiten binnen de overheid’. De NCTV (e.a.) mogen niet ongestraft jarenlang wetteloos handelen. Keihard straffen, ook de politici die aan deze praktijken meewerkten. De gezagscrisis is in alle lagen zichtbaar.

Dit is interessant. Als leidinggevende werd Cobelens geconfronteerd met kritiek van eigen personeel. Die werden prompt tot veiligheidsrisico benoemd. Mensen zijn nu eenmaal emotionele wezens, vatbaar voor allerlei raar gedrag, daarom moet er altijd een maximum aan macht zitten.
