i understand why some people want him back in the group. you may want your old fandom experience back. or it could be knowing that he had plans and dreams he wasn’t able to fulfill because of circumstances that were beyond his control. it’s understandable to feel that it’s unfair that he didn’t get the opportunity to do those things as part of the group when, under different circumstances, he might have. yes, it could be unfair for you. but life is often unfair in ways that none of us can change
if he spent those two years navigating disappointment and uncertainty, and if the people closest to the situation weren’t able to change the outcome, it’s worth considering whether fans can truly do so either

everyone is entitled to their own feelings about how things turned out. disappointment, frustration, and sadness are all understandable. and just because you’re allowed to feel these emotions doesn’t automatically mean you’re entitled to have things your way in dealing with them, because guess what? it’s not only you who’s affected
i hope people can also make room for the possibility that this new chapter isn’t something being taken away from him, it’s something he’s finally being given the chance to have. if you are promoting for actions that encourages failure for this chance he earned, you’re not so different from the company who you’re trying to fight
truly supporting someone means accepting that their path forward may not look the way we originally hoped, because at the end of the day it’s their life, their dreams. you met them only to support them just as much as they’ve supported you, you’re not meant to control what they get to do with their own lives!
lastly, there’s also a huge portion of his former fandom that doesn’t want him back anymore, and they will do everything they can to damage his character and reputation. they already see your boycott as a source of misplaced disrespect toward the rest of the members, and whether you think that’s fair or not, that’s the reality of the situation
