Our ⁦@UofOklahomaLaw⁩ Oxford program had a great first week with an opening gala dinner at ⁦@TrinityOxford⁩ and a tour of legal London. So thrilled to be here with this amazing group of students and faculty!

I am 🤏 this close to going to law school. Much like my comms and PR work, I anticipate most of my labor would be pro bono & have a media component. If you thought I’m a menace now, wait until all my friends in the fight can hit ya with the “you’ll be hearing from my lawyer.”

Before the Trail of Tears, Chickasaw people lived in what is now Mississippi, Kentucky, Alabama and Tennessee. 200 years after their forced removal, the Chickasaw Nation is receiving vital pieces of their past: important artifacts and the remains of their loved ones.
KOSU@KOSURadio

The Mississippi Department of Archives and History has returned 95 human remains and 1,500 funerary objects to the Chickasaw Nation as part of a federal law requiring repatriation of Indigenous remains and burial items. kosu.org/race-culture/2…

@lee_kovarsky Justice Gorsuch similarly emphasizes Indigenous history in his Federal Indian Law opinions as well.

@evanbernick I think you've summarized much of Johnson v. McIntosh in two tweets. The narrative is deeply rooted indeed!

Justice Gorsuch has a concurring opinion joined by Sotomayor or Jackson in the Indian Child Welfare Case, which at first blush, appears to be a remarkable treatise on the history of Tribal Sovereignty and the abusive treatment of native children in the United States.

@shershovitz But what about the best Indian Tacos? These are fighting words (but so is this whole thread and I love it) but Oklahoma wins easy. For those that aren’t familiar, consider this an open invite to all to come here and try them while also visiting the First Americans Museum.

Here's what you need to know about these rankings: The best pizza is near Yale. The best tacos are near UCLA. The best cheesesteaks are near Penn. And the best people are at Michigan. That's it, folks. That's how you choose.

@meeradeo @jdmortenson I felt this same way! After the first episode I wasn’t going to watch anymore. BUT. I was told to push through to episode 3 at least and it’ll be worth it. And it was. It was beautiful.

Check out this article by @JimmyHooverDC about the incredibly troubling case of Richard Glossip who is scheduled to be executed by the State of Oklahoma on 5/18. As I note in the article, I've never seen anything like this. bit.ly/3HK3GBM

@ShawnProf We don't. Most are *very* selective, picking 1-2 every year that work for 1) a partner/parents to watch the littles, or 2) their budget for a babysitter.
