“They routed everyone down to 34th and 8th.
Police barracade.
Through metal detectors to a point about 200 feet from MSG.
Then they came and apologized and said they were confused and instead we needed to exit the barracade and go to 34th and 7th.
We walked there and then a different set of police told us to go to 32nd and 6th.
There are hundreds, if not a thousand people, wandering around in giant herds not knowing where to go or how to get in.
The police keep saying they don’t know the protocol.”

My friend went to an indie hacker meetup this week and said this: "i went to indie hacker meetup so what’s really interesting is that almost everyone is super focused on development. they build these whole spaceships that generate code, review it, make all kinds of reports, analytics, and so on. one guy built an entire factory: he has a list of ideas, and agents generate the landing page, the saas, the analytics, and pull everything into one dashboard. straight-up sci-fi. and they focused optimize all of it like crazy. and you can really see how comfortable that is for them. but the most interesting part is that almost none of them have money or traffic. and nobody knows where to get either one. you often hear something like, yeah, i should probably do on marketing, but first i’ll finish my super system and then i’ll start. or in best i would need to make agent that will post to instaram automatically before, the classic programmer would spend a year writing code, tests, preparing for scale in the basement, and not show anything to anyone. now it’s even worse: the amount of useless aislop nobody needs has grown massively."

Imagine publicly showing that you failed as a parent. I know these type of parents. They support their trans kids not because they care about their kids, but because they want to prove themselves that they are good parents. It's a pathetic thing to watch.

My son's elite private high school school held graduation last week.
There were roughly 100 kids in the graduating class. Lots of extremely bright kids. Probably 20 IB diplomas. And maybe a dozen of those kids were Cum Laude Society too, including my son. These kids are incredibly smart and hard working. They had straight A's throughout high school, at an elite school, in the most challenging curriculum and earned the highest SAT scores.
Out of the entire class, there was only one student who was accepted into an Ivy League school. One. But he didn't earn an IB diploma. He wasn't Cum Laude Society. Or on the Head Master's List.
He is a great kid. And I'm happy for him. This isn't, in any way, a criticism of him. But, you already know -- he had something none of the highest achieving kids had.
Something has gone terribly wrong with our society when the very brightest kids are systematically barred from the most elite academic colleges in the country. And especially when the board of the school and its staff see absolutely nothing wrong with this outcome.
In fact they will, undoutably, call me a bigot -- again. But when will they fight for our sons?
They won't. Our sons are the wrong color.
P.S. In the middle of the ceremony, the American flag left of the stage fell over and hit the ground. The school's headmaster picked it up. But he didn't know how to fix the mount. So, he just stood it back up and let it fall over again. Twice. Finally a man who was obviously a former member of the armed services came over and, standing at attention, held the flag upright. Tells you 100% everything you need to know about the headmaster and the culture of that school.
