Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif's message on Nowruz, 20 March 2026. On this Nowruz Day, I extend my heartfelt greetings to the Parsi community in Pakistan and all those celebrating this day around the world. Nowruz is a symbol of the arrival of spring, new beginnings and new hope. This festival conveys a message of peace and love, friendship, harmony and solidarity between cultures. Pakistan's national identity and Nowruz share values ​​such as respect for cultural diversity, protection of religious freedom and peaceful coexistence. The Constitution of Pakistan protects the religious practices of all citizens. Effective policy measures have been taken to promote interfaith harmony and religious tolerance in the light of the Constitution of Pakistan. The government has adopted a comprehensive strategy in the form of the Policy on Interfaith Harmony (2025) and the Strategy on Religious Tolerance (2025) to promote religious harmony. The aim of these policy measures is to promote dialogue between religions, establish an effective system of conflict resolution, prevent hate speech and raise awareness of common human values. The government is responsible for protecting the followers of all religions in the country, their places of worship and the care of their religious heritage. The government, in collaboration with the media, educational institutions, civil society and religious leaders, is striving to promote an atmosphere of mutual respect and understanding. Let us, as a nation, renew our commitment to work together for mutual harmony, religious tolerance and shared prosperity.

Spoke with His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan to convey warm Eid-ul-Fitr greetings to him, the Royal Family, and the brotherly people of Jordan. We discussed the evolving situation in the Middle East. I strongly condemned the recent attacks on Jordan and expressed Pakistan’s unwavering solidarity with our Jordanian brothers and sisters. We agreed on the urgent need for restraint, de-escalation, and dialogue to restore peace. Reaffirmed our commitment to further strengthening Pakistan–Jordan ties across all areas of mutual interest.

Türkiye Cumhuriyeti Cumhurbaşkanı sevgili kardeşim Recep Tayyip Erdoğan ile bu akşam görüştüm ve kendisine, ailesine ve kardeş Türkiye halkına en içten Ramazan Bayramı tebriklerimi ilettim. Son derece samimi geçen görüşmemiz sırasında, Orta Doğu’da hızla gelişen durumu ele aldık. Kardeş ülkemiz Türkiye’ye ve ayrıca bölgedeki diğer kardeş ülkelere yönelik saldırıları güçlü bir şekilde kınadığımı belirttim. Pakistan’ın Türkiye ve diğer kardeş Körfez ülkeleriyle olan sarsılmaz dayanışmasını yeniden teyit ettim ve gerilimin azaltılması ve diyalog için gösterilen tüm çabalara destek vermeye hazır olduğumuzu ilettim. Her ikimiz de azami düzeyde ılımlı olunması çağrısında bulunduk ve anlaşmazlıkların diyalog ve diplomasi yoluyla çözülmesi gerektiğini vurguladık. Ayrıca Afganistan’daki duruma dair görüş alışverişinde bulunduk ve Türkiye'nin Pakistan ile Afganistan arasında barış kurulması çabalarını desteklemedeki yapıcı rolünü, özellikle de bayram günlerinde ilan ettiğimiz geçici ateşkese olan son katkılarını takdirle karşıladığımı belirttim. Aynı zamanda, her ikimiz de karşılıklı çıkar alanlarımızın tümünde gerçekleştirmekte olduğumuz ikili iş birliğimizde görülen olumlu ivmeden dolayı memnuniyet duyduğumuzu ifade ettik.

Islamabad: 19 March 2026. Prime Minister Holds Telephone Call with His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan on the Occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr. Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif held a telephone conversation with His Majesty King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr. During their warm conversation, the Prime Minister extended Eid greetings and felicitations to His Majesty, the Royal Family and the brotherly people of the Kingdom of Jordan. His Majesty King Abdullah II reciprocated these sentiments. Both leaders also called for peace and harmony in the ranks of the Ummah. The two leaders discussed the evolving situation in the Middle East. The Prime Minister expressed deep concern over the ongoing hostilities in the region. While expressing his strong condemnation of the attacks on Jordan during the ongoing regional escalation, the Prime Minister expressed solidarity with the people of Jordan in these difficult times. He emphasized upon the need for restraint, de-escalation, and diplomatic resolution of tensions. The Prime Minister fondly recalled His Majesty’s visit to Pakistan last November. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s strong commitment to further strengthening its close and brotherly relations with Jordan in all areas of shared interest, particularly in trade, investment, and defence. Both leaders agreed to remain in close contact on bilateral and regional matters.

Spoke with my dear brother, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan of the Republic of Türkiye, this evening and conveyed warm Eid-ul-Fitr greetings to him, his family, and the brotherly people of Türkiye. During our most cordial exchange, we discussed the rapidly evolving situation in the Middle East. I strongly condemned the attacks on our brotherly country Turkiye as well as other brotherly countries in the region. I reaffirmed Pakistan’s steadfast solidarity with Turkiye as well as with other brotherly Gulf countries, and conveyed our readiness to support efforts aimed at de-escalation and dialogue. We urged maximum restraint and stressed upon the need for resolving differences through dialogue and diplomacy. We also exchanged views on the situation in Afghanistan and I acknowledged Türkiye’s constructive role in supporting peace efforts, between Pakistan and Afghanistan, particularly its contribution towards the recent temporary ceasefire during Eid days. We also expressed satisfaction on the positive momentum in our bilateral cooperation across all spheres of mutual interest. @RTErdogan

Islamabad: 19 March, 2026 PM Shehbaz Sharif Exchanges Eid Greetings with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif today held a telephone conversation with H.E. Recep Tayyip Erdogan, President of the Republic of Turkiye, to exchange Eid-ul-Fitr greetings. During their most cordial conversation, the Prime Minister conveyed Eid felicitations to President Erdogan, his family, and the brotherly people of Turkiye. These sentiments were warmly reciprocated by the Turkish leader. Apart from exchanging Eid greetings, the two leaders also prayed for peace, unity and prosperity of the Ummah. The Prime Minister reiterated his strong condemnation of the ongoing escalation in the region, particularly the missile attacks on Turkiye, and said that the entire Pakistani nation stood in solidarity with their Turkish brothers and sisters in these challenging times. The two leaders urged the international community, especially those in the region, to seek a resolution of their problems through dialogue and diplomacy. Both leaders also exchanged views on Afghanistan. The Prime Minister acknowledged Turkiye’s constructive role in promoting peace efforts between Pakistan and Afghanistan, especially in the recently announced temporary ceasefire, over the Eid days. While fondly recalling President Erdogan’s historic visit to Pakistan in February 2025, followed by the Prime Minister’s own visits to Turkiye in April and May, 2025, the Prime Minister highlighted the fact that both brotherly countries were working together assiduously to further advance bilateral ties across all spheres of mutual interest. Both leaders agreed to maintain close engagement for the promotion of peace, prosperity and economic growth, bilaterally and in the region.

اسلام آباد: 19 مارچ، 2026. وزیراعظم محمد شہباز شریف کی زیر صدارت خطے کی تیزی سے بگڑتی ہوئی صورتحال کے پیش نظر ایندھن کی بچت اور کفایت شعاری کے اقدامات کے نفاذ پر جائزہ اجلاس آج اسلام آباد میں منعقد ہوا. اجلاس کو ملکی موجودہ ذخائر، کھپت اور کارگوز پر بریفنگ دی گئی. اجلاس کو بتایا گیا کہ ملکی ضروریات کو پورا کرنے کیلئے پیٹرولیم مصنوعات کا مناسب ذخیرہ موجود ہے اور مزید بھی انتظام کیا جا رہا ہے. وزیراعظم کے بر وقت عملی اقدامات اور ہدایات جاری کرنے سے ایندھن کے ذخائر کے حوالے سے انتظامات کیے جا سکے۔ مشرق وسطی اور خطے کی غیر مستحکم صورتحال کی وجہ سے ایندھن کی ترسیل شدید متاثر ہو سکتی ہے لہذا، اس سے نمٹنے کے لیے آئندہ دنوں میں بچت کے مزید اقدامات اٹھانے ہونگے. وزیرِ اعظم نے ہدایت کی کہ صوبوں کے ساتھ مل کر ایک جامع لائحہ عمل مرتب کیا جائے تاکہ ہنگامی صورتحال سے نمٹا جا سکے. اجلاس کو کفایت شعاری اور بچت کے اقدامات پر عملدرآمد کی پیش رفت سے بھی آگاہ کیا گیا. وزیرِ اعظم نے کہا کہ بچت اور کفایت شعاری کی پالیسی اپنانے کے نتیجے میں عوام کو ریلیف مہیا کرنا ممکن ہوا۔ اجلاس کو مزید بریفنگ دی گئی کہ وزیرِ اعظم کی جانب سے جاری کردہ ہدایات پر عملدرآمد یقینی بنایا جا رہا ہے، انٹیلیجنس بیورو کی جانب سے نگرانی بھی کی جا رہی ہے. اجلاس کو بریفنگ دیتے ہوئے بتایا گیا کہ تمام صورتحال کی نگرانی کی جارہی ہے، اور پیٹرولیم مصنوعات کا ریکارڈ رکھا جارہا ہے، تاکہ کسی قسم کی بے قاعدگی کی فوری نشاندہی ہوسکے اور سد باب کے لیے اقدامات اٹھائے جا سکیں. اجلاس کے شرکاء نے کہا کہ اشرافیہ آگے بڑھ کر ایثار اور قربانی کے جذبے کو اپناتے ہوئے بچت اور کفایت شعاری کی مثال قائم کرے. حکومت کی عوام سے پٹرول اور ڈیزل کی بچت کے اقدامات کو اپنانے کی بھی اپیل، تاکہ آئندہ دنوں میں پیٹرولیم مصنوعات کی دستیابی متاثر ہونے کے خطرے سے بچا جا سکے. اجلاس کے شرکاء نے مزید کہا کہ ہر ممکن صورتحال سے نمٹنے کے لیے تیار رہنا ہو گا اور بدلتے حالات کے مطابق طرز عمل اپنانا ہو گا. پیٹرول بچانے کیلئے کار پولنگ اپنائی جائے، نقل و حرکت اجتماعی طور پر کی جائے. غیر ضروری سفر سے اجتناب کیا جائے اور تیل بچانے کے لیے آمد و رفت کو محدود رکھا جائے۔ وزیرِ اعظم نے کہا کہ حالات کی بہتری تک تمام متعلقہ ادارے ہنگامی اقدامات کیلئے تیار رہیں. اجلاس میں آرمی چیف اور چیف آف ڈیفنس فورسز فیلڈ مارشل سید عاصم منیر، نیشنل سیکیورٹی ایڈوائزر لیفٹننٹ جنرل محمد عاصم ملک وفاقی وزیر اقتصادی امور احد خان چیمہ، وزیر قانون اعظم نذیر تارڑ، وفاقی وزیر خزانہ و محصولات محمد اورنگزیب، وزیر پیٹرولیم علی پرویز ملک، وفاقی وزیر اطلاعات و نشریات عطاء اللہ تارڑ ، وفاقی وزیر موسمیاتی تبدیلی ڈاکٹر مصدق ملک ، وفاقی وزیر انفارمیشن ٹیکنالوجی و ٹیلی کام شزا فاطمہ ، وزیر مملکت برائے خزانہ و ریلوے بلال اظہر کیانی اور متعلقہ اعلیٰ سرکاری افسران نے شرکت کی۔

Islamabad: 19 March 2026. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in a ceremony held in Islamabad, today, said the launch of 5G spectrum marked a major milestone for Pakistan, benefiting sectors including agriculture, technology and industry. Addressing the signing ceremony of license agreements for the 5G spectrum, the prime minister said the auction process was conducted in a transparent manner despite legal challenges. He appreciated the efforts of Minister for Law and Justice Azam Nazeer Tarar who fully cooperated to remove the legal hurdles in the process. He said transactions such as the divestment of Pakistan International Airlines were also carried out with transparency, setting new precedents in the country’s history. The prime minister congratulated telecom companies including Jazz, Zong and Ufone on successfully acquiring spectrum, with Jazz securing the largest share. He also extended congratulations to Chinese officials associated with Zong and reiterated that Pakistan-China friendship would continue to grow stronger. He expressed hope that 5G technology would expand to all parts of the country, including urban and rural areas, and emphasized the need to move swiftly to enable youth to benefit from modern technological advancements. The Prime Minister also witnessed the signing of license agreements by Jazz, Ufone and Zong.

Reiterated my invitation to His Highness to undertake an official visit to Pakistan at his convenience and accepted a most gracious invitation from the Crown Prince to visit Kuwait on mutually convenient dates.

We agreed on the importance of peace, stability, and dialogue, and reaffirmed our commitment to further strengthening the enduring Pakistan–Oman partnership. Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif received a telephone call from His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, Sultan of Oman, earlier this afternoon. During the warm and cordial conversation, the two leaders exchanged greetings on the auspicious occasion of Eid, conveying their best wishes for peace, prosperity, and well-being to the peoples of both countries and the Muslim Ummah. The two leaders discussed the evolving regional situation and, while conveying Pakistan’s solidarity with the brotherly people of Oman over the loss of precious lives and injuries during the attacks in various parts of the country, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of maintaining peace, stability, and constructive dialogue. Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening of the longstanding fraternal relations between Pakistan and Oman. In this regard, the Prime Minister reiterated his invitation to His Majesty, the Sultan of Oman, to undertake an official visit to Pakistan at his convenience. The Prime Minister also responded positively to Sultan Haitham bin Tariq’s gracious invitation to him to undertake a visit to Oman, at a mutually convenient date.

During their warm and cordial conversation, the two leaders exchanged greetings on the auspicious occasion of Eid ul Fitr, conveying their best wishes for peace, prosperity, and well-being to the people of Pakistan, Kuwait, as well as the entire Muslim Ummah. The Prime Minister also conveyed his warm and respectful regards to the Amir of Kuwait, His Highness Sheikh Meshal Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah. The Prime Minister, once again, condemned in the strongest terms, the attacks on Kuwait and expressed condolences over the loss of precious lives, while praying for early recovery of the injured. He expressed Pakistan’s solidarity with, and support to the brotherly people of Kuwait. He further stressed upon the need for all the regional countries to work together to maintain peace, stability, and resolve all differences through dialogue and diplomacy. While reaffirming the strong historic fraternal bonds between Pakistan and Kuwait, the Prime Minister reiterated his invitation to His Highness, the Crown Prince of Kuwait, to undertake an official visit to Pakistan at his convenience. اسلام آباد: 18 مارچ، 2026 وزیراعظم محمد شہباز شریف کی زیر صدارت پاکستان ریلویز کی اسٹیئرنگ کمیٹی کا اجلاس آج وزیراعظم ہاؤس اسلام آباد میں منعقد ہوا۔ اجلاس کے شرکاء سے گفتگو کرتے ہوئے وزیراعظم نے کہا کہ ریلوے کا نظام ملک کی معیشت اور مواصلات میں ریڑھ کی ہڈی کی حیثیت رکھتا ہے۔ ان کا کہنا تھا کہ ملکی معاشی اور صنعتی ترقی کے لئے ملک بھر کے ریلوے انفراسٹرکچر کی پائیدار بنیادوں پر تعمیر نو کرنے کی ضرورت ہے. علاقائی تجارت و روابط کے لئے ریلوے کو جدید بنیادوں پر ترقی دینا قومی پالیسی کا اہم جزو ہے۔ وزیراعظم نے پاکستان ریلویز کو مال برداری(freight ) کی سہولیات اپ گریڈ کرنے کی ہدایت کی۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ موجودہ علاقائی صورتحال کے تناظر میں ایندھن کی بچت کے حوالےسے اشیاء کی نقل و حمل کے لئے ریلوے کی فریٹ سروس کا استعمال ناگزیر ہو چکا ہے۔ اجلاس کو پاکستان ریلویز میں جاری اصلاحات پر بریفنگ دی گئی ۔ اجلاس کو آگاہ کیا گیا کہ پاکستان ریلویز کی فریٹ سروس میں اس سال 21 فیصد اضافہ متوقع ہے۔ ایشیائی ترقیاتی بینک کی تعاون سے مین لائن ون( ML-1) کے پہلے فیز کراچی-روہڑی سیکشن کی اپ گریڈیشن کے حوالے سے کام جاری ہے۔ اس حوالے سے انجینئرنگ ڈیزائن، ماحولیاتی اثرات سے متعلق فیلڈ سروے اور زمین کی خریداری کا عمل جاری ہے ۔ تھر ریل کنیکٹیویٹی منصوبے پر 57 فیصد کام مکمل ہو چکا۔مین لائن تھری کے روہڑی-نوکنڈی سیکشن کی اپ گریڈیشن صوبہء بلوچستان سے معدنیات کی ترسیل کے حوالے سے ایک انتہائی اہم منصوبہ ہے؛منصوبے کے لیے ڈیزائین کنسلٹنٹ کی خدمات حاصل کی جا چکی ہیں اور پی-سی ون بھی تیار ہو چکا ہے ۔ پاکستان ریلوے کی ڈیجیٹائزیشن کا عمل بھی جاری ہے ؛ رابطہ ایپلی کیشن ، کیش لیس ٹکٹنگ اور ریلوے اسٹیشنوں پر مفت وائی فائی کی فراہمی اہم سنگ میل ہیں ۔فریٹ مینجمنٹ سسٹم، ڈیجیٹل ویھئنگ بریجز(digital weighing bridges) اور رولنگ اسٹاک ٹریکنگ سسٹم سے فریٹ سروسز کا معیار بہتر اور شفاف ہوا ہے۔ اجلاس میں وفاقی وزیر اقتصادی امور احد خان چیمہ ، وزیر ریلوے حنیف عباسی ، وفاقی وزیر خزانہ و محصولات محمد اورنگزیب ، وزیر مملکت برائے خزانہ و ریلوے بلال اظہر کیانی اور متعلقہ اعلیٰ سرکاری افسران نے شرکت کی۔
