The Iranian Red Crescent Society has 100,000 professionally trained aid workers ready to respond to the situation, according to the president of the IRCS.

“We have four million volunteers and 100,000 professionally trained aid workers available to serve in such situations,” Dr. Kolivand said.

“We have no shortage of rescue capacity or operational strength. The Iranian Red Crescent aid workers born in the 1370s and 1380s (1990s and 2000s) are brave and fearless,” he added.

Ms. Somayyeh Mir Abo Eshagh, a rescuer, instructor, and volunteer with the Iranian Red Crescent in Khansar, Isfahan Province, was martyred in an airstrike on the city.
