The outage affecting customers in Ebony Park and Kaalfontein was caused by a fallen electricity pole due to a storm. As a result, the conductors snapped.
Supply has been restored to approximately 90% of customers by backfeeding from an alternative source.
Work is currently underway to erect a new pole and restring the conductors in order to restore supply to the remaining affected customers.
An estimated time of restoration can not be provided at this stage. Further updates will be shared as work progresses.
