This is a dirty lie. I never said it, and I don’t believe it. I have lots of close Christian first cousins and family and friends, for goodness sake, and have written about how the religion has been core to the success of our civilization.
In our country, it’s true that anybody has a right to believe what they want, and to associate with whom you want.
But what I do believe is that as Americans we should maintain the social and professional norm that it incurs a cost on somebody if they express hateful or discriminatory views in a situation involving hiring or colleagues. We don’t want to live in a society that normalizes hate against anybody: whites, blacks, Asians, Jews, etc.
Of course, when you express this about Jews, these Neo-Nazi losers et al come out of the woodwork.
