Officers located the child’s mother and godmother inside paying for groceries. When officers calmly asked basic questions to confirm custody, the godmother erupted — yelling, cursing, refusing to cooperate, spitting on an officer, and threatening violence in front of shoppers. She was arrested for disorderly conduct and aggravated assault. Once in custody, her loud, combative jungle-like behaviour quickly turned calm and quiet. The toddler was safely reunited with family.
