Here is the boring truth about Muslims praying in public. I personally avoid doing this. Simply because I want to focus when I pray and I can't focus when I know loads of people are around me watching and probably judging. So I will pray at home or at work or at a mosque. And 99% of Muslims will do the same 99% of the time. The only time we pray in public is when we are stuck in a place where there are no prayer facilities and the time for prayer is closing. It's a last resort basically as we realise the public space is not a great place for contemplative prayer, nor do we wish to bother others. So sorry to disappoint you Nick Timothy, this is not an act of Islamic domination, it's simply Muslims who aren't very good at forward planning trying to fulfil their obligation to pray.
