Diversity is our strength
Following yesterday’s stabbing in Golders Green, the government held a COBRA meeting and announced yet another increase in security funding for the Jewish community, an extra £25m, bringing the total to £58m. This now exceeds the £40m allocated to the Muslim community.
By comparison, native British Christians (along with other faiths) receive just £5m a year, which is shared across multiple groups.
●Jewish community (~310000 people): £58m → £187 per person
●Muslim community (~4 million people): £40m → £10 per person
●Christian communities (~27.5 million, mostly native British): £5m shared ~£0.18 per person
It feels as though British taxpayers, through no fault of their own, are footing the bill for decades of conflict between these two Middle Eastern faiths.
