[26.04.16] Agencies Representing Gumayusi and Oner Launch Strong Legal Action Against Online Abuse… “Dual Lawsuits” Leave Community Cornered A series of strong legal responses from agencies representing LCK professional players is being announced one after another. Among them, some users from the “T1 Support Minor Gallery” (hereafter referred to as T1 Gallery or T1Gall), where defamatory posts targeting specific players had been concentrated, are now being identified as key targets of legal action. Recently, in the process of addressing the tax evasion controversy surrounding Ruler (Park Jae-hyuk), false rumors were spread linking Faker (Lee Sang-hyeok). As part of handling this case, it appears that legal action against Gumayusi (Lee Min-hyeong), who is under the same agency, is also being pursued. On the other hand, Oner (Mun Hyeon-jun) agency had previously announced in February that legal action was under review and urged restraint. However, as the harassment continued, his side has now proceeded with a formal criminal complaint to the police. As a result, some users is reportedly facing separate lawsuits from both Gumayusi and Oner agencies. While this round of legal action does not explicitly name the T1 Gallery itself, many of the users who led the malicious attacks against the two players are known to be part of that community, raising concerns about the platform’s future. Criticism toward Gumayusi within the T1Gall initially began as dissatisfaction with his champion pool. However, it gradually evolved into coordinated harassment. Some users pushed for the promotion of then-academy player “Smash” (Shin Geum-jae), using it as a basis to undermine Gumayusi. Ironically, Smash himself was unable to secure a stable starting position and later transferred to Dplus KIA, weakening the justification behind those calls for promotion. The online harassment eventually escalated into offline actions and conspiracy theories. Protest trucks and wreath demonstrations were sent to T1’s HQ and LoL Park. Furthermore, conspiracy claims emerged alleging that Gumayusi was being favored due to the management’s religious background, referred to by some as a so-called “Christian cartel.” This form of blind cyberbullying did not stop even after the 2025 season, when the player transferred to another team. In response, the agency representing Gumayusi and Faker, FANABLE, released an official statement on the 14th announcing a firm stance. The agency stated: “We can no longer overlook the ongoing harassment, malicious posts, and unfounded defamation directed at our players, which they have endured under the name of being public figures. We are actively reviewing and proceeding with all possible measures, including both civil and criminal legal action.” They also made it clear that no leniency would be shown. After both Gumayusi and Smash left the team, the focus of criticism within the community shifted to Oner, T1’s jungler. As T1’s performance fell short of expectations early in the season, some users placed the blame on him. In particular, when academy jungler “Painter” showed strong performances in CL matches, similar patterns emerged as in the previous Smash controversy, calls for promotion were used to pressure Oner. During this process, numerous personal attacks and insulting remarks were directed at Oner. Beyond claims that he lacked “game intelligence,” maliciously edited images were also circulated. His personal YouTube channel, “Come here Oner ,” was flooded with abusive comments, eventually leading to the disabling of its comment section.
