Alison was my MP until the recent boundary changes and by god she was a great MP. She laboured hard in the community and was always working to bring people together and improve the lives of those within it. It was a pleasure and an honour to have been one of the voters to have signed her nomination papers in 2019 and I was gutted to see the outcome of the election in Glasgow North. We shouldn’t be deriding or trying to ridicule politicians when they show emotion, we should celebrate it. Politicians are people. Alison cared so much and was so passionate about the work she did in Parliament and having the constituency changed beneath her, she worked to show the people of Glasgow North that she could continue the fantastic work she started when she was a Cllr in Glasgow East before winning in May 2015, June 2017 and December 2019 to be the MP here. I hope we continue to see Alison channeling her immense positivity, energy and drive into continuing the work she’s been doing in trying to improve the lives of the people of Glasgow and those elsewhere affected by the cruel 14 year long Tory government which has now thankfully come to an end. I hope we see Alison back where she belongs in Parliament ASAP 💛 x
