If you are changing things to the better, and through democratic ways and social interactions then you are doing your job as part of this country. For example, Muslims do not like the legalization of weed and they could speak up about it, while they don't do the same for alchohol. Why? Alcohol is also not halal in Islam but they realize it's only harmful to the user and as long no crime committed it's good. but it's believed that weed access when it becomes easier, more kids will be prune to try it and it's a gateway drug. some will argue it's not but i think they benefit, similar to the cigarette companies historically. so peaceful productive changes, are the duty of every Canadian, and it's up to Canadians to champion them or not. That's how democratic multi-cultural societies work. Now if you tell me, no we are not multicultural. Well you lied to my dad then before he brought us here, because he was an expert in his field and that's how he immigrated here as his expertise were required. So if governments don't want multiculturism anymore, they should apologize and gradually change their laws but they can't force them as some are grandfathered. One Canadian should not have the upper hand on the other, and democracy should take its course.
