I met with Christian Klein, CEO of SAP, and discussed UAE’s priorities in advancing digital capabilities and solutions related to artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and digital sovereignty. We exchanged views on future development opportunities and the potential of innovative technologies, including AI-enabled transformation and secure, locally tailored models that serve government institutions and support a more efficient and sustainable ecosystem.

Dubai witnessed the largest gathering of its kind to accelerate the adoption of artificial intelligence applications, with the participation of more than 2500 decision-makers, experts, CEOs, and officials from both the government and private sectors. This event in Dubai is a result of a journey spanning more than 185 years, reflecting the visions of the late Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum that aim to develop a pioneering, proactive, and forward-looking model for Dubai, inspiring digital leaders to enhance Dubai's history from a comprehensive vision to electronic, to digital, to artificial intelligence, and onward to the future.

In 1999, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum initiated the pioneering journey of the future by launching Dubai's digital transformation, a venture that has continued to achieve milestones leading to the recent unveiling of the Dubai Digital Strategy last year. We have realized record-breaking accomplishments that have established us as the premier hub for billion-dollar global enterprises in the technology and artificial intelligence sectors within the region.   In recent years, the evolution of artificial intelligence has accelerated, presenting numerous opportunities for nations and governments adept at utilizing it, while posing challenges to those unable to keep pace. This required swift and adaptive action plans responsive to the rapid changes in technology and artificial intelligence.   To enhance Dubai’s global leadership, today we launch the Dubai Universal Blueprint for Artificial Intelligence, an annual plan that aims to achieve key targets of Dubai’s economic agenda D33 by adding 100 billion dirhams from digital transformation to Dubai’s economy and increasing economic productivity by 50% through innovation and the adoption of digital solutions.   During the initial phase of our plan for this year, we will commence with the goal of enhancing the quality of life and well-being of the people of Dubai leveraging Artificial Intelligence. We will start by appointing Chief A.I. Officers in all Dubai governmental entities. We will also announce a comprehensive program for attracting and enabling data centers and we will introduce a new A.I. company license. Dedicated Incubators and Campuses for Artificial Intelligence will be launched to further enhance Dubai’s vibrant A.I. ecosystem and finally A.I. will be celebrated in Dubai schools with the introduction an A.I. week. We will annually review, update, and introduce new projects under this plan, ensuring it keeps pace with all developments. Dubai is a city centered around its people, and to this end, we will dedicate all our resources and energy to make it the happiest place in the world.

Today, we approved the designs for the new passenger terminals at Al Maktoum International Airport, and commencing construction of the building at a cost of AED 128 billion as part of Dubai Aviation Corporation's strategy. Al Maktoum International Airport will enjoy the world's largest capacity, reaching up to 260 million passengers. It will be five times the size of the current Dubai International Airport, and all operations at Dubai International Airport will be transferred to it in the coming years. The airport will accommodate 400 aircraft gates and feature five parallel runways. New aviation technologies will be employed for the first time in the aviation sector. As we build an entire city around the airport in Dubai South, demand for housing for a million people will follow. It will host the world's leading companies in the logistics and air transport sectors. We are building a new project for future generations, ensuring continuous and stable development for our children and their children in turn. Dubai will be the world's airport, its port, its urban hub, and its new global center.
