They were not made to replace employees with foreign workers. • The H-1B figures being referenced are Microsoft-wide visa renewals and new hire applications. They are not specific to XBOX and represent a small percentage of Microsoft's overall workforce. And the majority of roles impacted were not American roles. • XBOX is the largest employer of American workers in the gaming industry and the largest American gaming company. • And Asha is an American born, raised, and educated CEO, from Wisconsin.

Another in the LONG LINE of reason why I stopped watching ANYTHING from @IGN. YES, the layoffs are disgusting and egregious! People losing their jobs absolutely terrible! But when @asha_shar said they were "resetting" @XBOX what did you think that meant? Let's also be fair and admit that the were NO studio closures, AT ALL! I clearly remember the knucklehead games media telling us the exact opposite for weeks on end! @Playstation is a complete shit-show, but NOTHING from @IGN or the rest of games media! I wonder why 🤔

Asha’s remit was always going to involve hard decisions. You don’t reset a business by trimming around the edges. The layoffs are painful, but they’re a rational response to years of drift. Leadership is finally addressing long‑standing issues instead of papering over them. The real measure of success is what follows: a business with a future.

I hope Xbox dies as a brand for what they did to id Software.

In my opinion they did. Also, as far as I'm aware, the Xbox community is alive, well, excited for future releases and optimistic with the future ahead. They've had strong momentum this year and it should carry on for the rest of the year but they just have to be careful with messaging and learn from past mistakes.

@AlphaNineTech Exclusives didn't bring people to xbox with the xbox one, they didn't with the series consoles (even series s) and they wont with the Helix. The xbox situation is worse than it was back then. Xbox focusing on hardware and exclusives will be a huge mistake.

We need true exclusives for the next Xbox and Project Helix. It's what's going to attract new gamers and keep existing gamers on the Xbox ecosystem.

@AR12Gaming @StormplayerDX This is pretty sad tbh. I just don't think studio execs see the money in racing games anymore and shift focus away from that genre completely. There used to be loads of quality racing games on consoles, now there's only a handful.

RIP Need for Speed... EA says Criterion is now solely focused on Battlefield, with no plans to return to Burnout or Need for Speed just as the studio celebrates its 30th anniversary... One of the most influential racing studios in history has officially left the genre.

More reports why Sony is trying to end physical discs: - They want to cut out the middle man, to make more profit per sale (like remove walmart cuts etc) - Sony thinks the fanbase will not switch platforms, they can do what they please without losing fans - They are convinced by ignoring this issue, they fans will just accept the changes and convert to 100% digital with time. - Sony thinks they are "too big to have commination with fans". Talking to fans has no margin benefit, so they refuse to address fans and will keep doing so I have lost all trust and goodwill with PlayStation, no words what is happening right now. Horrible company

After the success and brilliance of the Fallout TV show, it's a good move to focus on a brand new Fallout game sooner rather than later.

@klobrille Very unfortunate some of their workforce got let go. It's good in a gaming sense knowing that a new Fallout game is being worked on. After the TV show success, it was a no-brainer.
