An internship position in a good Nigeria hospital within north central axis 🥹

@Nursebassey_ not been friendly to us so many people already gave up from there, but I didn’t after changing to another suites where the nurses were,I made sure to scrub and they supported me in their own way I needed them and that’s how many of my teams members got to do

@Nursebassey_ I agree with you Even as a student nurse I already say to myself that I won’t be doing theatre posting without me scrubbing,I must and I remember among my teams posted to theatre I was the first to scrub, I remember one of the matrons in one of the suites

During my internship, I was posted to the theatre. I wasn’t familiar with most instruments. We read them in school, but real exposure? Not enough. But I refused to stay clueless. On this day, a member of the surgical team told me I couldn’t scrub because they wanted an ‘experienced nurse.’ I didn’t accept it. How will I spend a whole month in theatre without scrubbing? I insisted… and the nurse in charge of the theatre supported me. Intern nurses, they will tell you NO sometimes, but don’t settle there. You have just 1 year to learn under guidance while mistakes are still allowed. Stop being passive. Stop standing at the back. This phase is not for spectators. Be present. Be curious. Be sharp. And don’t forget to take pictures of those moments… because one day, na those memories you go use encourage yourself.
