Choose your path in life out of your own values and desires, not out of fear and practicality. And definitely not from the demands of others. Your life is yours, no one can take that or dictate the way it should be. It may not seem possible at first when you've always listened and shaped yourself around the ideals of others, and so you give up thinking it's impossible to do the things you want, or finally find your true self. But whatever they all say to you now, it won't matter years from this moment. Those people will shape you and disappear, like leaving a mark on a tree they've passed by. But that tree shouldn't bend or stop growing from the marks of others, and you shouldn't either. So why let the people who pass by your life and the people who don't know you dictate your life and make decisions? Why let them push their values and make you afraid to be anything other than yourself. You weren't created to be the glue that holds together the ideals and desires of others. Don't beat yourself up over the things people say in a passing moment. Little comments they say that they forget within minutes, can fester and rot your passions for months. It can be hard to train yourself to have that resolve, but you need to remember, life is a short, amazing moment. It is temporary, but beautiful, so you should harness the moment and turn it into something you want, not what THEY want. Dance like nobodies watching and embrace the little quirks that make you who you are. Laugh at the jokes no one else thinks is funny. Talk about the things you love without holding back. So what if some try to squash that? You have nothing to prove to them now, or in a decade. They'll move on by and your job is to stay grounded in yourself and your resolve. Life doesn't need to make sense, you just need to shape it around the things most important. Be out there and live. Don't fester on your problems, don't keep thinking about the mistakes of the past that no one else will remember, and don't be your worst enemy from the seeds of doubt everyone else put in you and left behind. The world will open up in unimaginable ways once you let go of the pain and desire to seek approval of others who aren't even a part of your life. Instead, when you never give up on your dream, when you finally take the time to embrace yourself, THAT is when life finally shines past all the doubt you've built up. Let the moment you embrace yourself be life's best chapter. Every time you show up, you pick yourself back up, you believe in yourself - it's all leading to something great. So remember, don't give up, and don't let the world around you try to shape you into something you aren't. Don't give up on your dream or yourself and be a bright star that shines in this dark world. Maybe if we all do, the sky will be full of unique stars just like you and shine brighter than ever. Who knows, maybe you'll even find the stars that shine just like you~
