Labour wants to give 16 year olds the vote. Yet, they agree with a judge that a 23 year old rapist should not receive the maximum sentence because of his “own immaturity by reason of his age.” And his “previous good character” What previous evidence of good character? He’s a recent migrant! Child rapist Ahmad Mulakhil should have received the maximum sentence. It’s shameful he did not, and now the Government won’t refer his sentence for being unduly lenient.

Except we’ve seen the video and it’s horrific. Kicking a man in the head repeatedly with heavy boots, when he’s face down on the ground, and disarmed, looks less like courage and more like out of control violence.

The stabbing of two Jewish men in Golders Green today is deeply shocking and a stark reminder of the very real danger antisemitism poses on our streets. My thoughts are with the victims, their loved ones, and the wider Jewish community. No one should be targeted because of their faith.

Our brave officers confronted a man they believed to be a terrorist, who refused to show his hands, who was violent, and who continued to pose a clear threat. Using only their training, courage and tasers, they detained him while he continued to try to attack and stab them. This took true courage.
