Sundus Al-Kurd celebrates the return of her daughter, Bisan Al-Kurd, after two and a half years in neonatal care in hospitals in Egypt. Her home in northern Gaza was bombed at the beginning of the war. She was severely injured, and her daughter, mother, and several members of her family were killed. Doctors were forced to save the life of her unborn child and performed a cesarean section in her eighth month of pregnancy. Then, the army stormed the hospital, and news about her baby in the incubator was cut off. She had no information about her for an entire year. Later, after a year, she received the good news that her daughter was alive in a hospital in Egypt, where they had been transferred through the World Health Organization and were receiving treatment there with a Palestinian medical team. Today, 11 premature babies have returned to the Gaza Strip, while others remain in Egyptian hospitals.
