College is one path. Apprenticeships are another. Skilled trades offer structured, paid training that leads to real skills and real income. Opportunity deserves visibility. We highlight verified apprenticeship programs across the U.S. 🇺🇸

@walls_jason1 Exactly. AI is most powerful in the hands of people who actually know the work. Tradespeople won’t just survive this shift, they’re going to build some of the most useful tools in it.

Someone just posted "10 jobs safe from AI" and Electrician was #10. I'm an Electrician. And I used AI to build an entire company. The trades aren't safe FROM AI. We're the ones who are going to use it better than anyone. Because we actually know the problems. Silicon Valley builds tools for Silicon Valley. I built a tool for the guy in a truck who just wants to know if his customer actually needs a $4,000 panel upgrade. Most don't. The math proves it. NEC 220.82. I just made the math accessible for $12.99 instead of $4,000. That's what happens when a tradesman gets his hands on @AnthropicAI.

Life will always get you right when you think you can’t handle anymore. My son was running around, slipped on some leftover putty residue on the hardwood floor (every parent knows that exact moment 😩), and ended up hurting his tooth. We rushed to the ER, got him checked, and today — for the first time in about a week — our whole family finally exhaled. We all were together and just in tune. He’s okay. We’re okay. I’m grateful to have those insurance benefits. Grateful doesn’t even cover it. ❤️”

Last week Mark Cuban reposted my thread. 876K people saw it. 3 days ago I applied to Shark Tank Season 18. Yesterday a casting producer emailed me wanting to learn more about ChargeRight. I'm still a union electrician. Still IBEW Local 369. Still pulling wire every day. I built an app with @AnthropicAI's Claude that runs the same NEC 220.82 load calculation I do on job sites — tells homeowners if they actually need a panel upgrade before installing an EV charger. Most don't. That's a $3,000-$5,000 answer for $12.99. A week ago nobody knew my name. @mcuban changed that with one repost. Now @ABCSharkTank is in my inbox. I don't know where this goes. But I know I'm not stopping.

A country can’t reshore industry, modernize infrastructure, or scale energy production without a pipeline of trained workers. Apprenticeships solve the real bottleneck: skills, readiness, and upward mobility. If we want more builders, welders, electricians, operators, and technicians, we need to treat apprenticeship like national strategy—not an afterthought. Blue collar careers do not need better PR. They need better access, better training, and more respect. #BlueCollarApprentice #WorkforceDevelopment #Apprenticeships #SkilledTrades #BlueCollar #Manufacturing #Infrastructure #TradeJobs

@mcuban — I’m telling my story. But here’s the person that kept me together. My wife is the only reason I had enough faith in my product to post it online. That post got 860K+ views. All these strangers saying good job, way to go. And I feel almost dishonest taking all the credit. My wife is the only reason I speak a little louder in rooms. The losses don’t hurt any less. The days don’t get any shorter. But those moments when I feel like it’s too much or I can’t do it — there she is. With a hug. Kind words. Slanderous words. Or just to be there. That’s the whole story

Day 74 tagging @mikeroweworks and I’m not stopping. Maybe he never sees this. Maybe no one ever tells him. Maybe this all goes nowhere. But “maybe” is what holds most people back. I’m doing this for a year straight to bring awareness to the trades. Consistency wins.

Mike Rowe helped make one thing clear: the people who keep society functioning are too often overlooked until something breaks. Craftsmanship built every strong economy before us, and it will shape the next one too. The trades are not a backup plan. They are infrastructure, resilience, and long-term opportunity.
Linda McMahon@Linda_McMahon

Known to millions as the host of DIRTY JOBS, Mike Rowe has spent years shining a spotlight on the people whose hard work keeps America running. - "Work ethic is not a skill - it's a choice." Nearly 7 million skilled trade jobs may need to be filled in the U.S. by 2030 as older workers retire. All we have to do is look to history - civilizations have always depended on craftsmen. The future will depend on it. 🇺🇸 (Image by Gemini)

@Linda_McMahon @mikeroweworks Exactly. Skilled trades do not run on hype. They run on discipline, reliability, and people who show up and build what society depends on. Work ethic still matters, and the future will belong to the ones willing to learn a real skill and carry real responsibility.

This is the workforce gap in one post. America doesn’t have a demand problem for skilled trades. It has an awareness problem. Elevator mechanics keep apartments, hospitals, offices, hotels, and airports moving, yet most young people are never shown this path as a serious first-choice career. Paid apprenticeship, real skills, real wages, long-term demand. The “invisible trades” won’t stay invisible forever. Learn more 👉 bluecollarapprentice.com/trades/elevato…
Hector Resendez - Trade School Secrets@TS_Secrets

There are only about 25,000 elevator technicians in the entire U.S. Let that sink in. Now think about how many elevators exist: • Apartments • Hospitals • Hotels • Office buildings • Airports Every single one needs maintenance… forever. Now here’s where it gets interesting: Elevator techs make $100k on average Top earners clear $150k+ With overtime in big cities? Even higher. And the “training pipeline” everyone talks about? It’s not 4 years of college. It’s: • Apprenticeship programs • Trade-based training • Earn while you learn So let me get this straight… We’re telling 18 year olds to take on $100k+ in debt… Instead of pointing them toward a career where they can make six figures fixing elevators? Here’s the controversial part: The shortage isn’t because the job is bad. It’s because no one is telling kids this path exists. We’ve marketed college. We’ve ignored trades like this. And now we have a massive gap. In 10–15 years? The people who chose these “invisible trades” are going to look like geniuses. Fun fact: only one out of the three elevators worked during our trip and average wait time was 10-15 mins.

Exactly. Elevator mechanics are what happens when critical infrastructure becomes invisible. The work is essential, the training path is proven, and the earning potential is real. The problem isn’t demand, it’s awareness. More young people should hear “apprenticeship” as often as they hear “college.”

A strong reminder that apprenticeships do more than train workers. They create real transition pathways into stable, skilled careers. More veterans should have a clear line from service to the trades.

Stopped by @Rivian Shepherdsville again today—Ray always comes to the door, genuinely checking in on how @ChargeRightEV is going. No sales talk, just real belief in what I’m building. His hoodie today: “You Are Enough.” I tell my kids that every day. Hearing it echoed back while grinding from nothing? Hit different.

Appreciate that, Jason. What keeps apprentices motivated is a clear path, real pay, and proof that their work matters. When people can see what they built, powered, or fixed with their own hands, the mission becomes real. You’re proving the same thing with ChargeRight — trades expertise plus smart tools creates real value.

@BCApprentice168 Spot on — real support from builders like Ray at @Rivian hits different. His “You Are Enough” hoodie today echoed exactly what I tell my kids every day while grinding @ChargeRightEV from nothing. As an IBEW Master Electrician proving 70% of EV owners skip panel upgrades (NEC 220.82), I love what you’re doing with skilled trades apprenticeships — perfect fuel for the EV infrastructure boom! What keeps the apprentices you connect motivated? (Fellow builders, drop your go-to encouragement below 👇 like I asked in the thread) 🔥💪 #SkilledTrades #IBEW #EVCharging #YouAreEnough #Apprenticeships evchargeright.com

@daniel_dhawan Respect the grind. People see the win in year 7 and miss the years of rejection, debt, and persistence that built it. That’s what real founders look like.

My first 6 years as a startup founder: - Started by building AI mobile apps at 20yo - Failed with 4+ startups - Ran out of money multiple times - Was rejected by Y Combinator 8 times - Had a $15k credit card debt - Got 200+ rejections from investors My last year as a startup founder: - Moved to SF - Launch Rork, AI mobile app builder, to make my year 1 self happy - Got into a16z speedrun and raised $3M+ - Scaled Rork to millions in ARR in under a year - Became the #1 AI mobile app builder in the world The average journey to a $1B company takes 10 years. I’m on year 7. Keep building.
