The Packer Backer Tracker
@BackerofPack
The 2025 Green Bay Packers are probably the most frustrating Packers team I’ve ever watched. And that’s saying something.

Matt LaFleur says after Rich Bisaccia stepped down, Bisaccia gave him a list of names for next special teams coordinator and Cam Achord was on that list. LaFleur hasn’t had a direct convo with Bisaccia about why he left, but assumed he wanted to be closer to family.

The Panthers agreed to terms with former Packers LT Rasheed Walker, sources tell me and @rapsheet.

It turns out there was a Philadelphia payoff in the Ravens-Eagles’ Jaire Alexander trade from last November. The Eagles received an $889,000 salary-cap credit and the corresponding cash itself, which Alexander paid back to the Eagles even though he never played a game for the franchise, league sources told ESPN.

Gutekunst intimated the comp picks wouldn’t impact their strategy. That was a lie, and he was smart to protect them given the Parsons trade has left them short. They’ve set themselves up to be ready to play a game tomorrow, and will still get all their comp picks. Job done.

The #Browns are expected to sign former #Packers Pro Bowl C Elgton Jenkins, per me and @TomPelissero. He can play guard or center for Cleveland. It’s a 2-year, $24M deal with $20M guaranteed in a deal done by Damarius Bilbo of @KlutchSports.

Roster decay is very real in Green Bay. You can debate the quality of the players lost, but... Rashan Gary Elgton Jenkins Quay Walker Malik Willis Nate Hobbs Kingsley Enagbare Romeo Doubs Rasheed Walker Colby Wooden 2026 team probably won't be as talented as the 2025 team.
