In a major breakthrough, the Counter Intelligence Wing busts a #Pakistan's ISI-backed cross-border terror module. In a joint operation, SSOC Amritsar & SSOC Mohali apprehend one accused and recovers 4 hand grenades and 2 foreign-made pistols along with ammunition. Preliminary investigation reveals that the accused was acting on instructions of foreign-based handlers and has links with the terror module involved in the grenade attack in #Chandigarh. FIR has been registered at PS State Special Operation Cell (#SSOC), #Amritsar, and further investigation is underway to identify, track and apprehend other members of the module. @PunjabPoliceInd remains committed to dismantling organized crime and ensuring public safety.

Preliminary investigation reveals that the accused were in contact with #Pakistan-based smugglers through social media platforms, facilitating the smuggling of illegal arms and supplying them to criminal elements. In a major breakthrough, District Amritsar Rural Police, in a joint operation with District Faridkot Police, solves the grenade attack case at PS Bhindi Saida, leading to the arrest of six accused and the recovery of two pistols. Preliminary investigation reveals that the module was backed by #Pakistan’s ISI. The accused were in contact with a Pak-based handler operating from abroad, who was directing terror activities in #Punjab. On the intervening night of March 29–30, 2026, the accused retrieved hand grenades, conducted reconnaissance, and carried out the attack. The module had been radicalised and motivated to target police establishments, with promises of substantial financial rewards for executing the attack. An FIR has been registered under relevant sections of the Explosive Substances Act, UAPA, BNS, and the Arms Act. Further investigation is underway to establish forward and backward linkages and to dismantle the entire network. @PunjabPoliceInd remains firmly committed to ensuring peace and harmony in the region.
