Five team members of @BasicNeedsGh, led by our E.D., @BadimakYaro, are currently in Naivasha, Kenya, for a week-long workshop on writing and data analysis as part of the @HOPENIHRproject. We are building stronger research skills in mental health and homelessness across Africa.

With our partners, we held interface meetings with 14 MMDAs across 7 reg. to strengthen dialogue & action on the inclusion of vulnerable women & girls in gov't social protection schemes, with a focus on addressing mental health gaps linked to HIV, TB, GBV & SRH. @EF_LINITIATIVE

Yesterday, we trained Community Volunteers in Accra under our @EF_LINITIATIVE project. 5 practical sessions strengthened their skills in supporting the mental health & psychosocial needs of pregnant & postpartum women living with HIV/TB & survivors of GBV/IPV.

Over the past two days, BasicNeeds-Ghana, under the HOPE Research Project with support from @NIHRresearch, held a capacity-building workshop for its Community Advisory Board.
This equipped members with a better understanding of common mental illnesses & stigma, 1/2

With support from @UNDPClimate -AFCIA, we organized a training in the N/R for 216 Self-Help Group members, among which 136 were women in dry-season organic vegetable gardening. The training supports savings, access to small loans, & stronger financial resilience.

We joined national stakeholders, led by the @mha_ghana & @WHOGhana, to support the review of the Maternal Mental Health Policy. This forms part of ongoing efforts to ensure timely and person-centered mental health care for mothers and girls across Ghana.
