@cshperspectives@jwoodgett@leslievosshall Our new global institutional and funder Impact Factors and corresponding Impact Shades are already included in the beta version.
With 50,000 journals, it can be difficult to efficiently determine a paper's Impact Factor. That's why we're excited to announce Impact Shade, a partnership with all major scientific publishers, that lets you determine if a paper is worth your time w/out having to read any words!
In 2024 we will roll this out to conferences, providing every scientist with a badge ribbon that dynamically displays the colors of their lifetime scientific output and which that can be quickly and surreptitiously read from up to 10m away!
But Impact Shade is about more than evaluating individual papers. It's about evaluating scientist too. Using our Impact Shading tool, you can automatically color your own CV - or some else's!! Think about how much easier it will be to screen candidates for jobs or funding.
To claim your initial 100 ImpactCoins send your ORCID iD or a Google Scholar Profile to us. Then, every time you publish a paper, we'll give new ImpactCoins equal to the IF of journal in which it appears to the senior author to be divided amongst their co-authors as they see fit.
Preprints are great... in theory. They get science out fast and without paywalls. But what good is a free archive of all scientific knowledge without journals to tell you which papers are worth your time, and without impact factors to tell you who to hire?
