There are a couple of spots left in the Interactive Performance and Rehab course I'll be teaching in San Diego at Kinetic Impact August 1-2. The course will be built to feature interesting, difficult rehab case studies. kirehab.com/interactive-tr…

You can train in a sports specific manner while doing things that don't look like the sport - if impact levels, velocities, power outputs, tissue loads, are competition-like, it's sports specific. If sportlike training movements don't achieve this, you're not prepared.

I'll be teaching a course in performance and return to play training in San Diego at Kinetic Impact August 2-3. A great opportunity to dive deep into RTP exercise prescription and case studies. There are a few spots left, hope to see you there. kirehab.com/interactive-tr…

If I hit game-like levels of intensity and tissue load in preparation for a season, I'll likely be ready even if the volumes are below game levels. If I achieve the volumes without hitting the intensity and tissue load, nothing good happens.

Coaching culture shift - team sport volumes are so easy to measure now, we now tend to look at game volumes as the key marker to hit in preparation. As a result, athletes are entering seasons without exposure to sufficient levels of intensity and tissue loads. Injuries result.

I keep getting the question.. what is your favorite hamstring injury prevention exercise? ... Sprint Often !!! The only thing that loads it like sprinting is sprinting. Don't preach specificity ... practice it.

A critical factor in hamstring health is the freedom of the pelvis to oscillate in the frontal and transverse planes, distributing energy and load properly to the hip flexor/extensor mechanisms. Strength at the expense of mobility is a poor trade.
