According to legend, the following incident took place in the woods of Eastern Norway in 1894.
A farmer is on his way home on a cold winter's night, when he comes across an eerie group of people walking behind a horse-drawn carriage with a coffin. It seems to be a funeral procession.
Suddenly the farmer notices that neither the people in the procession nor the horse leave any tracks in the snow. Then he recognizes the faces of villagers who have been dead for many years, and he realizes that it is a procession of ghosts.
The farmer is terrified, because he knows that a sight like this could be a premonition of his own death.
The year after the incident, he dies in an accident in the very same woods he came across the funeral procession of ghosts.

should I crowdfund Syth and Axe... that is the question. An epic yarn about Paul Bunyan and American folk heroes battling with and against cryptids, monsters, and strange invaders as they attempt to thwart an evil plot to release beings trapped in the seven Vaults of Enoch.
