One of ways you can help RPCS3 is by finding inaccuracies on our emulation of the PS3's rendering pipeline.
You can test **ANY** game for this purpose. It does not matter if the game is PS3 exclusive or multi-platform. Any changes to the rendering pipeline will help other games that use similar RSX features.
RPCS3 does NOT operate with "if game is x then do y" hacks, so the rendering pipeline must be accurate enough to allow the entire PS3 library to render correctly.
Keep in mind to always provide as much information as possible! If using any non-default settings, please justify why a specific setting is needed for that game, otherwise stick to defaults.
When reporting visual bugs, at the very least we need:
- a good quality visual comparison between RPCS3 and PS3 - example comparison attached.
- step-by-step instructions from booting the game until reaching the bug - assume we know nothing about the game you're reporting.
- the RPCS3 log file.
- an RSX capture file from Utilities -> Create RSX Capture.
- any savedata, if required to reproduce the issue.
Saying something does not work without at least these details is not helpful. We already have plenty of well-reported issues on our hands to deal with, we do not have time to waste investigating incomplete reports for issues we are not experiencing ourselves.
Open-source is a collaborative effort. If you want RPCS3 to improve, you too can contribute.
