🚨🇮🇪 BREAKING! Despite the proposed talks arranged between the government and farmers scheduled for 2pm, a large number of public order Gardaí have arrived at the Whitegate Oil refinery, one of the main sites of the Fuel Protest. The government has abandoned the meetings with the protesters. Now dozens of Gardai have arrived at the white gate refinery protest in Cork. The protests will now grow in size.

Christopher Duffy, one of the organisers of the Fuel Protests, provides an update on the current state of events as of Friday morning. Everything hinges on a meeting scheduled for this afternoon....

The Government is to meet with representative groups of farmers, agricultural contractors and the haulage industry to discuss the ongoing fuel crisis. There's no confirmation that representatives of fuel protesters engaged in ongoing action will be there rte.ie/news/politics/…
