I had an amazing time at Family Day yesterday at @BridgesMathart. Chaim Goodman-Strauss, Scott Vorthmann, and I ran a hat tile build. We found out when we got there that we were not allowed to use the floor, but we improvised and were able to make a pretty big tiling anyway.

Last activity at the @BridgesMathart conference for today: #Math #Theater. The play is "Lovesong of the Electric Bear" by Snoo Wilson, a piece about the tragic life and death of Alan M. Turing. Kudos to the🧸, who had to deliver the most amount of lines while in a hot costume.

Another activity this afternoon at the @BridgesMathart conference: #family day. Hosted by the Science Museum of Virginia visitors can build card sculptures, wear tetrahedron-balloon hats, create their own #math balls to play with, or build an emerging artwork; among other things.

The first plenary talk at @BridgesMathart was excellent: Chris Bathgate, a machinist who makes amazing art. Much of his talk was about designing ways to create metalworking machines that would have cost hundreds of thousands of dollars. chrisbathgate.com

The capstone talk at this year's @BridgesMathart conference is given by Margaret Kepner, telling us to "Only Connect."
